It was a truly glorious summer's day in the middle of July, I was sitting on a bench with a beer in my hand, talking to an attractive barmaid. I wondered if life could get any better. Then the band started playing "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd, which I consider to have the best guitar solo of any piece of music ever written.
Whenever I'm feeling grumpy I think back to that day and grin... Like I am now.

'The Wall' is far and away the most pompous, overblown, self-indulgent pile of wank ever committed to triple album, massive stage show and full length film.

But there are a few bright points - 'comfortably numb' and 'the wall' parts 1-3.

My second favourite floyd song has to be "Set the controls for the heart of the sun". It's the only one that all five members played together on.
Edit: This is a lie. My second favourite song is definitely "Echoes".

don't listen to Monty too much. We all know Roger Waters is an enormous arsehat, but they did some good stuff on Dark Side and The Wall.
