Spoilt Brats
Mr Newton sighs, "ever known anyone so spoilt you would love to strangle? I lived with a Paris Hilton-a-like who complained about everything, stomped her feet and whinged till she got her way. There was a happy ending though: she had to drop out of uni due to becoming pregnant after a one night stand..."
Who's the spoiltest person you've met? Has karma come to bite them yet? Or did you in fact end up strangling them? Uncle B3ta (and the serious crimes squad) wants to know.

After reading all this answers
I'm very confused.
All my friends lived with their parents, rent free and no job, at least until 25. That's the normal. Some of them at 32 still do it.
Your parents would look at you upset and asked what they did wrong if you tell them you want to move.
I have a friend (or had, she doesn't talk to me anymore) who studied History of Art (FFS, who studies that???) Being 28 she's still living with her parents, paying nothing at all, of course. She's upset with her father and wouldn't talk to him (for more than a year now) but demands through her mother to get her 100€ weekly money. And complains because it's not enough.
I don't understand it.
Edit: I forgot to add some important details, like that she got a car from his father and he was going to buy her and her boyfriend a flat until they broke up.

maybe its a sign of the times
..but where i come from, that aint normal. If its out of necessity - and we're talking medical issues - I dont think choosing to live at home after 18 is healthy or 'normal'.
you mention euros though, I'm only talking about England here... you could be elswhere I guess.

Sorry
For the error with the gender. I'll change it now.
This hapens in Tenerife, in the capital people is very posh, but I didn't realize until I come to live in England. There your parents would try to help you "start" by buying you your first house. And always get a car at 18.

mmm yes
sounds very spanish indeed.
but I think a lot of south europeans are pretty spoiled by their parents (myself being one), so you could write a book full of stories like that.

That's exactly what I was thinking
It's totally normal for us to live with our parents until we are quite old (I left at 24 and was the first of my friends!! Everybody was so surprised I wanted to leave home!!)
And of course, living with them means no paying them. Your money is yours, they wouldn't accept it.

I guess Catholic countries still have a lot of emphasis on the family
with lots of people staying with their parents until they're ready to start a family of their own?
Whereas in the UK most of us can't wait to move out (so we can have lots of sex without having to tiptoe about, probably).
or I could be talking poo

I can see what you mean
we're in quite a similar situation here other than most people dont want to live at home but elsewhere, in a flat with mates or student halls. Mostly so that they can have lots of sex without being bothered by mummy and daddy. But most people still get help from their parents at least until they finish uni.
In fairness there's no such thing as a student loan to help with costs here, so I don't know. I give lessons to supplement my income, but I know it's not bad in comparison to most other people's already.

Yep
I used to teach too to get some extra money, as my parents wouldn't give me a lot for expenses (still, I never complained, I felt quite ashamed they had to pay for me at all)

I think you're quite right
Parents won't be happy if you leave so young.
That's another reason for everybody demanding a car, so they can have sex.
I didn't have sex in a bed until I could afford a hotel room.

Ah, España, españa
Tienes razón!
She's right you know, all Spaniards live with their parents until a silly age. My husband lived at home until he moved in with me at the ripe old age of 30.
I showed him the ways of the world, baby. Yeah.
España: Cult of childness. But best. place. ever. 100% fact (and no disclaimer)
