The much-missed Jessie had some shocking encounters with colleagues...
...some of them stupid, some of them just plain nasty.

One that sticks in my mind is one of the women she worked with who very nearly got her sacked (through accusing Jess of a spurious, fictional and nonsensical racist slur).

When Jess died this woman demanded that she be allowed to attend the funeral O_o

Jesus ... that's taking "getting the final word" waaaaay beyond the strictly necessary.

It's wierd, isn't it.
Some people have an almost groupie like attitude to funerals.

I have only been to two, I don't like them at all. But I was amazed by how many people there were, and how tenuous their link to the person was.

Some people are just unreal...

Perhaps...
....trying to appease her guilty conscience having realised over time what a twunt she was?
(, Fri 4 Mar 2011, 15:49, closed)
Nope
One of my friends still works with her: she's still a twunt...

you should have told her
that her type weren't welcome ;)
(, Fri 4 Mar 2011, 17:13, closed)
Haha :)

that is extraordinarily stupid

(, Fri 4 Mar 2011, 18:09, closed)
Clearly..
..she doesn't know how horrible she is. Pity is the only feeling I would possibly have for her. Not sympathy, just pity
(, Sat 5 Mar 2011, 0:10, closed)
aaaaaaaaaaand
did you punch her?
(, Sat 5 Mar 2011, 5:54, closed)
No, but I suspect Jess' mum would have done if she'd turned up on the day
I only heard about it through a friend who still works there...

Funerals are to the unhinged like jam to flies.
Outside the church after my maternal grandmother's funeral, we were doing the hand-shaky thing with the people who'd turned up when some vague acquaintance barged up to my mother.
"I KNEW YOUR MOTHER!" the vague acquaintance barked. "SHE WOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED OF THOSE HYMNS!"
Mum, thankfully, was so knocked sideways that she just laughed...
