Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

I was visiting some friends near Malaga and staying in there villa. My Spanish was (and is) kinda basic - I'm good in restaurants and bars but thats about it.
Swimming in their pool one day, it was a little cold so I started saying "mi fresa" thinking I was saying, I'm cold.
Of course, seeing the spainards rolling about laughing already told me I'd made a mistake.
Fresa means strawberry >.<

you don't say 'I'm hot', you say 'it's hot' as saying 'i'm hot' means you're horny!
Similarly for 'I'm cold', as that means I'm gay.
win all round with that one!

"Ich bin kalt" (I am cold) means you're frigid.
"Ich bin warm" (I am warm) means you're gay.
What happens in Spain if you're a cold, gay strawberry?

As 'mi frio' does not work, either. You should have said, 'estoy frio'.
I'll leave your English errors alone, for having been too pedantic already, for one day...

considering my spanish was one step up from "Sausage, egg and chips" in a really shouty voice, it was a valiant attempt.
Plus, your mum...

You should say "Tengo frio" - literally "I have cold".
