This is a question Summer Holidays

'We're all going on a summer holiday, and if you want to go yo Sven' rapped hip hop heavyweight MC Miker G - and it's as true today as it was way back in 1986. Holidays are a time for us to relax, unwind...and disgrace ourselves and our nations. Tell us about your best and worst holiday experiences. Again.

When I was at school there was a guy who was always making inappropriate comments about his slightly older sister
Things of a sexual nature, how attractive she was, how he'd like to have sex with her, that sort of thing. Problem is, we always laughed it off as him just trying to be shocking, but the sincerity of his tone and the frequency of these comments made me think that maybe he was in some way serious.
Long story short, my PC doesn't have a dedicated PS/2 keyboard port, only USB, meaning that I can't access the boot up menu. Is there a way around this?

I guess she repeatedly turned you down?

(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 14:36, closed)
What makes you think that?
I never even asked. As I said, she was a couple of years older than we were and to the 14 year old mind, she was unattainable.
Seriously, I'm not sure what made you leap to this conclusion.

Was this not a story about 'some guy you know'?

(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 15:28, closed)
Yeah
Does that not make it clear that it wasn't about me? If it was about me I would've said so, surely.

I'm just observing a protocol firmly established at school,
along with chinny reckoning, fucking your mother, and calling your dad a homo.
(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 16:08, closed)
Yeah, should just be a simple job of rewiring the motherboard.

(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 15:26, closed)
Simple??
No, that's beyond me I'm afraid.
(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 16:03, closed)
Just pull each component off the motherboard in turn and then solder them back on again the other way round until you find the one with the problem.

(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 16:16, closed)
Solder can be dangerous
So current suggestion is blutack. And maybe some gaffa tape for a professional finish.
(, Tue 4 Aug 2015, 17:30, closed)
probably

PS2 long gone
Everything USB now a days, so whatever it was you wanted to hit on the PS2 keyboard hit the same on the USB one. The bigger problem is the stupid OEMs who keep messing with the function keys and making it confusing if you need to use the key as well.

What make is the PC? Some you hit , others or , or even

Others need you to stand on your head whilst whistling Dixie.

All of them are making it harder as computers start too fast now.

I usually just get a big hammer out and place it in front of webcam to remind the computer who is in charge.

"Some you hit , others or , or even"
I couldn't have put it better myself.

Power down, then hold the power button until it beeps three times, you should be able to get into the BIOS that way

ciijasiie

Power on, then press F2 to enter BIOS setup. Honestly I don't know why you'd want to be trolling around there, Windows Explorer is so much more interesting.
(, Wed 5 Aug 2015, 17:30, closed)
F2 on the keyboard that he can't plug in?
You maniac!

Do some trepanning and connect the usb to your frontal cortex
or delete system32, that's a reliable standby
(, Wed 5 Aug 2015, 16:18, closed)
I assume the trepanning went without saying
Isn't that how everyone interfaces with their computers now?
(, Wed 5 Aug 2015, 17:26, closed)
Try a different usb port
or take out the CMOS battery, if either of these work change the boot order to enable legacy usb devices - you may also have to disable fast boot as this sometimes bypasses usb devices.
Remember to put the CMOS battery back in.
