This is a question Tightwads

There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

Snapped not an hour ago at the Dumfries branch of Lidl

Don't all rush now, will you?

Im not normally one to shout fake.
But that kinda does look photoshopped.

I assure you that it isn't
Honest! You can check, if you like - the same spectacular offer is probably open at other Lidls.
(, Wed 29 Oct 2008, 16:14, closed)
no worries.
Its just the way it looks with the colours.
I do believe you though i've seen similar silly signs in tescos.
(, Wed 29 Oct 2008, 16:40, closed)

Well, it's a Lidl bit cheaper. (badum-tish!)

Have seen a similar offer on 2L Coke in the local spar shop, around ~£1.70, but now a penny less.

...
The box above the sign says "Marlene" and there doesn't seem to be any Marmite in the shelf below, so it would seem as though that 1p reduction is a real bargain!

I got....
the "Not Marmite" bit, but what you indicate as being Marmite is in fact a non-Branded yeast extract, so .... not Marmite. The Marmite does seem to have sold out, so I stil say that the 1p reduction in price is apparently a bargain.

I stand corrected
