Hmm, that doesn't sound good for you at all...
Annoyingly, the light switch in my fridge is inside, so I can't press it once I shut the door. Maybe it would be safest if I just switch it off at the plug.

If you drill a small hole in the door
and feed an endoscope in, you can see if the light goes off. Or if you don't have an endoscope, simply switch off the kitchen light.

It's wise to keep potatoes covered like you cover a birdcage at night. This also means the potatoes can get some sleep. And if you add a ladder, a bell and maybe a mirror, they're usually happier. Maybe add an inch or so of earth too.

Tis very entertaining though :-D

But back at the ranch - yes, always a good idea to keep your spuds happy, you never know when they may otherwise turn on you. A roomy birdcage is a must, so they don't feel trapped, and a cloth to keep them quiet when you have guests is just plain common sense.

A happy potato is a tasty potato.
