High-speed caning + immediate stop and switch-off = emulsified oil = turbo death.
Also, don't sit with your foot on the brakes at the end of the slip road when you come off a motorway junction - you'll warp the discs. The stop from 70mph+ will heat the discs up a great deal, so keeping the pads clamped to one spot for a few seconds will make that spot retain more heat than the exposed disc surface for long enough to bend it. Blue Peugeot 406 estates are particularly prone to this.
