Trust me - it gets much, much worse.
In Gaelic "mh" is sounded like a v. So's bh, but it's a different type of v sound. (If you're wondering why they don't just use "v", it's because they don't have a "v" in the Gaelic alphabet).
I could explain why you pronounce nia "nee" (or nee-i) but you'd lose the will to live when I start talking about slender vowels and discussing how there should be a nasal twinge to it.
