True, but a rare and extreme case I would imagine.
If you'd accidentally had a near-death experience I would imagine it has a more profound effect than seeing or hearing of someone else having actually died.

Kids on skateboards regularly see videos of other people crushing their nuts on handrails, but I'd wager many still go on to do just that to themselves. But possibly not twice.


Edit - for the bus scenario, the chances are you may still step out in front of a bus in your life at some time. As for the guy who died, he'd never do it again. Aren't statistics great!
