I've donated bags and bags of clothesto the local charity shop (Red Cross). Mainly kids' clothes that they've grown out of. I make sure everything is properly laundered and in good condition. If it's permanently stained or torn, it goes in the recycle bin.
Shame other people aren't as thoughtful.
