This is a question My most treasured possession

What's your most treasured possession? What would you rescue from a fire (be it for sentimental or purely financial reasons)?

My Great-Uncle left me his visitors book which along with boring people like the Queen and Harold Wilson has Spike Milligan's signature in it. It's all loopy.

Either that or my Grandfather's swords.

@CHCB
Although a flamethrower does indeed render snails homeless and dead simultaneously, I've heard it is possible to protect your tomato plants from pesky molluscs by putting a ring of copper wire around the base.

Slugs and snails won't cross it apparently. Must interfere with the fillings in their teeth or something.

Or you could do like I do and use good old toxic metaldehyde slug pellets!

Dear A Snail
I suppose you've been spelling that out since the question opened, haven't you?
(, Wed 14 May 2008, 11:57, closed)
Have you had problems already with snails and slugs around your tomato plants?
So far mine have been fine.
I've got more trouble with the chuffing pheasants digging up my lettuce seeds :(

Actually
It's not been a sluggy season so far, as it's been quite dry. And the last two weeks of sunshine have helped too.

Dear Enzyme
I crawled into Chickenlady's ear and settled over the fine motor and language area of her brain...that's how we're doing this so fast, but admittedly it has taken many weeks.

has that put anyone else off their coffee?

^ Didn't put me off.
But I'm drinking orange juice.

I thought the story about the guy who got a leech up his nose was worse.

@ Enzyme
Sadly yes, she does still giggle and burp...it's really quite unsettling.

Someone told me my house was on fire,
so I said, 'AAABSFNTYSM NRSTEHAEB HSBRYJY FFFFLLLUBBBABBABB!'

Then I went back to shouting at traffic.
