This is a question Waste of money

I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

Somewhere in the region of £11,000 on cigarettes.
Damn you nicotine, damn you to hell.

I don't even enjoy smoking anymore, but can I give up? Can I fuck.

Any young people reading this should take note.

Tried the Allan Carr book?

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/014103940X

It's fiver, the price of a pack of fags. If you really want to stop it's worth a go.
I stopped (20 a day) 6 years ago with it and never looked back.

Best of luck.

I bought the "Stop Smoking Without Putting On Weight" book
not for me, one for my sister and one for my fuck buddy her mate, for Christmas. Both are now non-smokers.

The "Stop Smoking in 60 Minutes" DVD seems to be a good bet as well. Sister's fiance is going to have a crack at that, 'cos he can't be arsed to read the book.

Of course, another thing to consider is that one a day = £100 a year. 20 a day? That's a brand new decent-brand plasma TV every six months.

I did...
Used e-cigs for about 2-1/2 months until at the end I was only taking a draw once or twice a night with Bintangs. Stopped the e-cigs and now it's been 6 months since I quit!

E-Cgis are indeed the way to go.
I've used one for about 8 months now, and in that time I've had half a Marlboro Light which tasted awful, couldn't finish it.

I'm surprised that you are still vaping...
I was so happy to get away from tobacco that my main plan with the e-cig was to cut it down to almost zero and stop....

I have a foolproof way to quit smoking.
Chainsmoke 100-120 Marlboro Reds in the course of a single evening (5.30-11.30pm).

I don't care how much you smoke, you'll feel every single one of them the next day, and won't want to face a fag for the next week. Then, contrive to catch full-on, two-weeks-feeling-like-tepid-shit influenza, so your lungs get so clogged with snot you couldn't inhale the smoke in a kipper factory if your life depended on it.

Then, after three weeks of not smoking, try a B&H or a Rothman's. I guarantee it'll taste so awful you'll feel like staying clean for a while.

I did that 14 years ago. I've had a cigarette maybe five times in the intervening years (always when drunk), and even enjoyed one or two, but the feeling on your lungs afterwards is so revolting you won't just be an ex-smoker, you'll be a non-smoker.

I'm having some luck with the lozenges
I started using them before I actually quit, just a couple a day instead of a cigarette. After a while I started preferring them to smoking. What really sealed the deal was I got a chest infection and so was using the lozenges instead and when I coughed my phlegm was full of grey, black and brown bits - made me realise exactly what I've been doing to myself and so haven't wanted to smoke since. I'm still a bit addicted to the nicotine mind but I started off on the 4mg ones, managed to get myself down to the 2mg ones and am using half as many now. Asda have their own brand ones which are half the price of the Niquitin ones and just as good - you should be able to get them in the medicines section in the big Asdas.
