I came second.
Newslettered once for QOTW, twice for other things.
Had my subject chosen for QOTW (don't bother, it was shit).
I've searched for Kaol's graded scale of QOTW awesomeness but can't find it. I think I'm a level 2. Of course, he was a level 1.

Limit your paragraphs to one sentence each.
And write in short sentences.
So your stories are more spread out.
And take up more room on the screen.
Pushing all your competitors' stories out of the way.
Sure, they'll read like a red-top tabloid.
But that's a small price to pay for fame.
