Worst Band Ever
If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

"Amarok" is excellent though.
Partly because it was the point at which he finally pulled his finger out and made a record which was technically accomplished, appealed to the fans and yet was completely unmarketable, and also because it's got some genuine laugh-out-loud moments (e.g. the cameo from Maggie Thatcher.)

listening....
Theres a bit of everything in there, including nice farty noises! Reminds me of the psy/ambient/world/chillout stuff used to listen to after a hard nights stompin' "back in the day" (I hate myself for using that phrase).
ears open :)

I love "Amarok"
My dad is a huge Oldfield fan so I grew up in a house full of his music. "Amarok" is still brilliant today, as is "Ommadawn". As for "Tubular Bells" it's good but he's done a lot better, including "Tubular Bells 3" which for me was the best of the series.
