If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

comedy programs had a pitiful budget compared to 'light entertainment', consequently the producers soon realised that by shoehorning a musical number into the show, they would then become eligible for a considerably higher Light Entertainment show budget. Hence Elaine Paige's weekly slot on the Two Ronnies and Madness (and others) on The Young Ones.
Edit: Or did you mean such as the two Ronnies, where they'd come on at the end dressed as dinner ladies or in a marching band? I used to like those songs, laced with enough innuendo to floor a rhino.

Like I say, some of them are real gems, and I'd probably count a couple of the Ronnies' amongst them, but generally they were dross...I was kind of hoping they'd die out.
