but find myself drawn to The Independent and The Times, simply because they don't tend to insult my intelligence. The Times can, on occasion, show its Murdoch fangs, but on the whole it's pretty good.

The Grauniad and, to a lesser extent, The Observer throw opinions at you, reporting stories in a biased way (which, in my opinion, is almost as bad as The Sun & Mirror controlling the thinking of their readership by their method of reporting).
That they use bigger words and are biased in a different direction is neither here nor there to me. :(
