we didn't choose this
basically the client came along and said "we want a fileserver" and we said ok and then while building that they said "oh by the way can you build and manage an exchange server for us?" and we said "we don't really do that sort of thing" and the client waved a huge wad of cash our direction and the manager said "oh actually we do do that after all, it's dead easy"
