fairly good, it can show mappings other than photographic, but in some modes, only for parts of the US.

I've just ordered a Nokia 5140i for the lack of anything else that took my fancy and apparently you can get a GPS enabled cover for it which sounds pretty cool. Especially as I may be riding to Bulgaria next year :)

That's ace. I downloaded that the other day
and spent about 3 hours searching for maps of Peru to see if I could find Machu Picchu. I never did find it but my house is on there. Strangely there are entire towns missing. I couldn't find large sections of Oldham.
edit: Turn the buildings option on and look at any of the American cities, New York is cool.
