We are off to That London for wedding next week and we have been told the car might not be available now so we are looking at coaches and trains. Trains would be preferable but the wedding is near Isleworth and the I want to know if you can help with the following.
1) Is there anyway I can get the two of us to London for less than £100 (from Leeds) as the trains are far more expensive than I thought.
2) Do I have to have a london railcard thingy when I get there do you save much money with one seeing as we'll probably only be getting a train to and from Kings Cross.
If you don't know what is the best condiment. I quite like blue dragon sweet chilli dip.

Oystercard is probably worthwhile if you're getting the tube or bus more than twice.

And the air conditioning packs up on hot days.

The coaches are actually pretty good. Tend to be quite new with decent air conditioning. Plus the seats aren't made of fake leather that sticks to you like on National Express.

Make tickets that you pretty much print immediately or lose, or
Make you queue for ages to collect your ticket while you miss your coach
Overbook the coach and bring along another shit one for the overflow,
Direct the overflow bus to miss stops, including yours
Put a seat right next to the toilet, usually the only one left
Promise on-coach wi-fi that simply doesn't exist
...and worst of all instruct their drivers to perform the same comedy banter at every stop until you want to run up and thwack them around the head with the free water bottle they don't even give you any more.

I used to get the megabus from Manc to London quite often. Cost me £4 return. Loved it.

which, even though the wedding isn't until late in the day would mean that we would both be exhausted and have no time to get ready. We could do it at a push and after pricing that up on the national express thats still £90 but with added stress.

Bit of petrol to pay for but no farting around with tubes or buses. Where are you coming from?

In the absence of a time machine, try splitting your journey into shorter segments and see if you can find cheaper single tickets available.
Try changing at Doncaster, there are far more London-bound trains down that line and thus a greater possibility of finding cheap seats.
