Because it's much cheaper to get a seagull or leopard than it is to get a duck.
There are a couple of star'd resturants in cardiff, and I'm sure there are plenty of rosettes going around too.

where i work, for instance,
is now in the running for best pub food in the uk, there are plenty of other restaraunts with rosettes and stars too if you like that sort of thing.

I like to think every city has its good bits, there wouldn't be a city without them, as the whole point of them is generally to house a huge population around and industry, which brings in wealth and luxories.
I can't say I've ever been to wales, but I think I would enjoy it, espesh if Gobs was there.

Just avoid Cardiff, Newport and Cwmbran
The rest of it IS quite nice.
You should go to Hay on Wye too, it is awesome.

cardiff was in time magazine's top ten places to visit,
in a list of like, less well known places or something,
it is pure class, you'd love it.
