What?
Zombies make no sense at all.

'Zombies by their very nature are inconsistent' - Alan Partridge

Hahaha!

I just tend to think that you need to clearly define your own universe
whatever it is, and make sense within the context of that. Applies to kids programs too. Even Spongebob makes sense given the limits it sets itself.

You intolerable fucking nerd.

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:21, archived)
blah blah blah
things are much more enjoyable if you stick to your own rules. Otherwise you have sloppy writing that invents things as it goes along that undermine previous things massively, so there's no point in bothering. Like Lost did a lot. If you keep moving your own goalposts it sucks.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:24, archived)
you don't really like made-up stuff, do you?
or anything that isn't done by your own rules. which is fair enough but, you know, SHUT UP.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:27, archived)
Thing is, they DO stick to their rules.
You just cannot be bothered to find out what those rules are.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:28, archived)
No you're just picking holes because it gives you some sense that you are somehow superior to people that just watch it and take inconsistencies for granted
you're an A grade shit nerd archetype, just fucking stop it.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:29, archived)
The thing is, Lost was actually really poorly written because they had to cut massive chunks out during the writers strike, and just half-arsed it.
See also: Heroes.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:34, archived)
Heroes is an excellent example of inconsistency actually, yeah, totally moving the goalposts non stop.
TWD was not in the same league at all.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:44, archived)
Fuck off do you.
Our own, real life universe isn't clearly defined. Shit just happens. You're allowed to make a work of fiction without explaining it all in hyperautistic detail.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:21, archived)
you don't have to explain it, just write within it.
you really think that really good sci-fi doesn't have a hell of a lot of rules and thought behind how you can write effectively? All these heroes of cinema etc, Kevin Smith or whoever know vast amounts of stuff like this, that the viewers don't, and don't need to, but the result is a much much better output.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:27, archived)
The Walking Dead as with most zombie apocalypse scenarios is more about how humans react to the desperate situation in which they are placed
the zombies for the most part are just a plot device and could be replaced aliens, robots, mutant cats etc.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:31, archived)
Indeed. Also, the zombies in TWD follow very strict rules.
I'm a nerd, it's what we look for.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:34, archived)
So if it didn't fit the rules you specifically know
you'd have been a hater?

Isn't that exactly what you described me as???

Pot kettle kettle pot
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:58, archived)
the walking mutant cats
i'd watch it
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:55, archived)
Mutant cats vs alien robots?
Someone call Michael Bay.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 14:08, archived)
what should i call him

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 14:08, archived)
"A cunt" would be a start

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 14:09, archived)
sounds about right
he really is a shit
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 14:22, archived)
It's not so much the crap he has directed
As much as the crap he has produced- all those completely unnecessary remakes of classic horror films.

Looking at his IMDb page it would appear that he's producing a remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the moment. To be fair I don't really care about that one but I'm not looking forward to the remake of The Birds that he also seems to be involved with.

A ruining prick

This works too.

Oh sure, totally aware of that
Shame there wasn't a worthwhile storyline for it to enable though.

STOP 'SPERGING ALL OVER THIS THREAD.
you make MGT look like fearne fucking cotton.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:22, archived)
Bit harsh on MGT there.

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:26, archived)
Hahaha!

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:33, archived)
sometimes you have to make a sacrifice in order to prove a meaningless point on the internet.
i'm sure MGT would be ok with this.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 13:34, archived)
Fucking hell, I've already pointed you to a resource THAT DOES EXACTLY THAT.
