I would think that anyone should be allowed to judge something like that purely on its own merit. you shouldn't need to be well read to watch a poor quality american drama.

the fact is, whether you're reading or watching something that you find basically interesting, if it's fiction then there must surely come a point where you can let 'suspension of disbelief' go in order to just enjoy something? if you're not enjoying it, then give it up as a bad job and SHUT UP.

To totally exagerate what I mean, when they were in one of those many alleys being cornered, why didn't they just fire their jet powered rocket shows and blast off? because they didn't have them, they could have had them if that was how the show worked, but they didn't because it wasn't.
