I'm staying with my folks for a couple of days
there's a decent pool next to the local school - concrete and pretty run-down but it's clean and good for lane swimming and they open early so I can some exercise in before starting work.

The nearest pool to me
Is a 15 minute bus ride and it's always full of chavs. I would much rather go to the pool that's 5 minutes on the bus, then 20 minutes on the train and a 10 minute walk.

I don't swim when I'm at home. There are some okay pools near me but they're really busy
and I've got gym membership so I go there instead. I used to be with Fitness First and they had a couple of gyms with pools, one with a full-size one that was really nice at the weekend as it was pretty quiet.

"Chlorinated" pools use a Chlorine based salt, and so they are already a salt water. You may be referring to the choice of using a non-chlorine salt instead, for an odor-free swimming experience.
