No. His public comedy persona is that of someone who likes beer and fags and racism.
He's a public schoolboy-turned-investment-banker-turned-career-politician who drinks fine claret and while he's a nasty piece of work he's more interested in the votes of racists than the policies themselves.

It's one of the truest lines in showbiz:
