A terrifying climb
One would think that workers who work on radio and TV broadcast towers would use some kind of safety harness as they ascended their worksite.
One would be wrong.
EDIT NOTE: Perhaps not safe for lunch.

FUCK
THAT!
I couldn't even finish watching. I don't think I have a fear of heights, but I can't go anywhere near cliff edges or long drops, because I always have a worry for some reason i'll throw myself off.
I'm not suicidal at all, I just don't trust myself not to just do it for some mental unexplained reason, if that makes sense.
I cannot comprehend how someone can do that job without safety equipment. I would be paralyzed with fear.

I get the same thing
but mine's more to do with dropping something important and losing it forever, even if I'm not carrying anything. And also the throwing yourself off bit.
It's worse when there's a large body of water at the bottom too.

Riggers are a mental lot.
I did a climbing course for my apprenticeship with a mobile phone network. In the uk all towers have anti fall system for the ladder part of a climb it looks like this. It moves one way along the rail and locks in the other direction. I didn't do the free climb course, at the top of a 40-50 meter tower I climbed, you wouldn't believe how much it moves at the top in just a slight breeze. Scetchy stuff.

heights
Many, many people have that "compulsion" to let go on a ladder, or whatever, that you describe. It may be an instinctual quirk with the end result of us being TERRIFIED that will happen. Perhaps it is related to the fact we are born with only two fears: that of FALLING and that of LOUD NOISES.

I used to do a fair bit of rock climbing, and that made me feel very sick. The massive exposure and choosing to freeclimb was a truly horrible combination. Even when he chose to rest, there was nothing more than a button to prevent the krab sliding off the rung end.
No room for error.

That's to carry his massive balls in. They've got to be at least that big.
Oh, and the first time I watched this I bottled it at 2:52. And that wasn't on fullscreen.

You can see it here also -

Free-climbing is fairly common, but if you get caught doing it you tend to get your arse thrown off site. Dunno about over there (think it's Canada).
And yep - the tower does move around a fair bit at the top, definitely not unusual to feel it sway two to three meters in all directions.
(EDIT : two to three for guyed masts, one meter for solid structures!)
Great fun though.

"Over there"
in fact, the video is from the US, hence the mention of OSHA (the US "Occupational Safety and Health Administration"). I can't figure out what tower it is based on the height.

The sometimes overwhelming urge to throw yourself from high buildings...
I'm really glad that so many others get this, as I thought I was a bit odd. I sought the opinion of a doctor on what I thought was some kind of mental affliction and was reassured:
The Human brain is constantly making yes / no decisions but most of them are so inconsequential as to be in our subconscious. For example, your brain will subconsciously ask itself, "should I pick up that beer?" The answer it gives itself will probably be in the affirmative but the action and consequences either way are so inconsequential that they don't register outside of the subconscious.
The same brain activity is present when making decisions where one outcome could be grave: "Shall I throw myself from this great height?" Rather than a subconscious "no", the answer is an emphatic "NO", so strong as to register in the conscious mind and sometimes even set off an anxiety or panic attack. You may find that the same thing happens on a train or Tube platform as a train approaches and your conscious brain tells you that you will NOT throw yourself onto the tracks.
