to the mate who actually gave me the computer, since i know fuck all about the damn things.
did try to reinstall once, didn't seem to make a difference. my local disc has no space, despit me having deleted everything and neither of us being able to figure out where all the disc space is being used.

If you're friend can't do it, most pc shops will do a format and reinstall for about £30 if funds allow.....
