# Second attempt at a stereoscopic animation

Sort of unfocus your eyes until the two white dots merge to see the 3D effect.

# I've basically been making the technique up as I go along.
It's actually only just occurred to me that I should have looked for a tutorial.

D'oh!

Nice!

# It's an entirely different animation.
So ner.

# I have now stared at this for so long, I have retina cancer!
Would it not be easier to just post a picture of the image we are meant to see?

# I'm finding it quite hard to not focus on something so small
I had a go at messing with colour perception a while ago;

Edit: Had a fiddle with firefox zoom and I'm getting it now, very good.

# Nice!
Try merging the yellow circles instead of the white dot, works just as well but slightly more awkward because they're moving.

Interesting that the white dot appears "higher" than everything else

# The white dot
should appear closer than the red and blue circles but further away than the Yellow circle
(, Thu 31 Mar 2011, 15:15, archived)
# Hmmmm.
Interesting. The Yellow circle seems to be nearer than the white dot when it's at bottom left but further away than the right dot when it's top right.

I think I know what mistake I might have made that's done that. And it's suggested another technique to try.

# ah yes, it is nearer at the bottom left... Didn't notice that first time

# I'm going to have a play about.
Unfortunately not as useful as it could be as PS animation is very limited so you couldn't make something go into the distance and get smaller without having to animate every frame individually.

# I think crossing your eyes
would work if you looked at a mirror image of my pic.
(, Thu 31 Mar 2011, 15:44, archived)
# No, you have to swap the two halves over, but keep them the same way round.
Or mirror the two pics individually, but leave them that way round.

# Ah. Ok.
Thanks.
