When I press the big Shiny power button - mac goes "whirrr - BONG!" and the screen flickers on - goes through the usual build, then says "you know what? I can't be bothered powering up after all - Night Night..." and switches itself off


any ideas?

# have you tried turing it on and off again? :D
try holding shift just after the tone/bong until it finishes booting. that should put it in safemode
