I get the feeling I'm going to be dragged into my computer by a hand with a cut finger any time soon.

Plus I might, you know, get tentacle raped.

It really was like stepping into Moggy's mind (despite not being her work of course).

That, symbolically, was pretty fucking heavy. Fuck.
Like a loss of childhood innocence, or something.

A lot seem to miss the point, but hey, it's Japan, and hey, it's Youtube.

and wouldn't it be a fluffier place if the 'hide' or 'ignore' options were given due consideration?

I like it a bit close to the collar here, but sometimes it does go a bit too far.
It's not like I can be offended much, it's just when someone posts something quite risque, it often feels forced and unnecessary.
EDIT: Also, time for me to go. Nighty night!

Both are pretty good, but have their own little advantages and disadvantages, like the CGI in the American version is a lot spookier.

The American one, I mean. Because I'm a Philistine, haven't seen the Japanese version and therefore don't appreciate real cinema or something like that.

When it comes to comparing versions of films, I usually side with the original, but with The Ring, I really don't know. Likewise with The Grudge; both versions are good for different reasons.

mostly because i could hear the staff chatting away in the room behind the screen most of the way through the us version.

I must have seen about 10 Japanese people in that film, and LOADS of Americans... in TOKYO!

I saw the Swedish one first and just thought the Americans would massively nuts it up and make it shit for their version. Turns out it was quite good. Well, I thought the kids acting were excellent, if nothing else.

Reminds me of 'Sporloos' or 'The Vanishing' there's a fucked up slow burner if ever I've seen one.
Pre-ninja: It's French/Dutch notSwiss Swedish, but you just made me think of it anyway. Films in original language anyday for me, up to and including Ju-On/Ringu. Fuck me they have some imagery that lurks in your subconscious for a long time afterwards, unlike hollywood gubbins that you yawn and forget.

It is hard to pay attention to subtitles with double vision. No wonder the Channel 4 triangle thing didn't last long.
