Slight TJ: Anyone own the DVD silver anniversary edition of Flash Gordon? I want to copy the musical loop they use in the menu options. Any idea how I can do this?

# play it on your PC and record from the sound card / stereo mix in Audacity (or the like)
or you could try demuxing with a third party app

I like Audacity, but there are probably free/trial demuxing apps for Mac too

# you can get audacity for mac
(, Tue 8 Nov 2011, 22:49, archived)
# yes.

it's not for ripping/demuxing though (I'm talking about two things at once)

# there is usually a hidden setting in your computer's sound option
that when selected it allows you to record what is playing. You would need some software like Audacity.

# If your TV has a headphone jack
Run a cable between that and the microphone port on your computer.

Use a sound program to record.

# how have you found that for headphone output, decent frequency range?

I have some cassette tapes I want to record to WAV but none of my decks at home have a line out

# If you're recording from a cassette you won't notice any real loss
It's not perfect if you're recording from cds/flac but a little bit of hiss reduction in cool edit will solve it.

# worth a go then
