seriously, i can't do any of that
i'm a total computer numpty. i've deleted everything, including all my music and nothing's helping. it'd the local disc th's at fault and me and my mate(mostly my mate) have tried everything, to no avaiul. i need a new computer, for which i need to win a lot of money :(

Frankly the quickest way to find it should be a search for any file over 1gig.

If he does fix ppcs he must have a hard drive floating aboot, Replace the hard drive and re-install windows, if that doesnt work its something more serious.

He hasn't put one of those stupid doctored XP copies on has he?
XP black or some such pants? Last system I witnessed with that had 72 infections after a fresh installation.

Look, if he's replaced the hard drive, and re-installed windows you would have no problems with the memory filling up.
It takes years to get that sort of problem from a clean install. Therefore it's a hardware problem. Either motherboard, or RAM. Can't be hard drive as he's already changed it. The trouble with that is that shouldn't cause your hard-drive to fill up with bollocks.
