The new DC logo.
When the linkedin newsletter arrived right before the b3ta newsletter in my inbox today (well done b3ta for knowing your audience), I couldn't help notice the feature on the new DC logo. And could't help 'shopping the first thing it made me think of. Did DC think this through?

what is linkedin?
i went there once to see if it was worth signing up, but the homepage and non-logged-in pages gave me absolutely no idea about what it actually was

It's short for "Link Edin"
It's a popular chain making company based in Edinburgh.
Brass chains, steel chains, gold chains, daisy chains, you name it, they'll make it.

It's a social network for working professionals
It's all a bit dull, because everybody is trying to look all professional and shit. So no CDCs.

what did it make you think of?
also, I love the new DC logos, not as good as the original bullets/barrel one, but much better than the last one.

It makes sense and show a nice bit of design and thought
but it looks more like wilting than page turning...
Enjoying the reboots?

Enjoying the reboots?
only read a couple, heard good things about a few, but not that massive a fan of the words, just the pictures
Animal Man is meant to be a bit awesome but I haven't picked it up

I am giving The Flash and Batgirl a spin
but I hadn't read a comic since the Beano in the 80s, so I guess this reboot was aimed at me. I prefer the silver age art :)

my mate Lee redesigned Batgirl's costume to be the purpley one
is it still that?

Supergirl is really quite well done now too

Is Lee still hitting the Marvel/DC pages?
Fair play to him, if so - it was always gonna happen.

The sketches he did of Marvelman, Green Lantern and Captain Britain still reside on my shelf.
Right next to all the pictures you've ever drawn for me.

It has changed again
The last series was only running for about a year before the reboot. Its the same scheme, but just the cape having a purple lining.
Sweet stuff.

Sweet stuff.
I'm quite keen on the many variations of this they use for their host of characters.

*Googles* Oooh, I do like the new DC logo. Clever bit of design there.
The only criticism I have with it is, it's too simple. With DC comics, you expect a more visual logo.

This, I have to agree with.
It reminds me of when Rare changed their logo, if they actually went through with it. I hate it when companies think bland shapes = good design.
As Captain Howdy points out down there, I like how they've customized the logo for the various DC characters. Wise move, for what is quite a dull logo, especially for a comic book company.
