they just said on the news on Radio Four it carries a possible life sentence*. How that would make us all laugh

*They also pointed out no one has ever actually received a life sentence for the charge

# A life sentence usually means that you'll get released on licence after a much shorter period.
However, you are only on licence, and so can be recalled if you show signs of further naughtiness. You always have the threat of recall hanging over you.

Basically they were trying to hide incriminating evidence.

Hopefully they'll be charged for the actual hacking itself soon.
