# You seem to get toilets like that in all new buildings these days
(not with the speakers and gizmos, but as from the source pic). That sloping ledge on the base is a bugger for gathering dirt and dust.

# and with those little push buttons on top to flush
which don't seem to last anything like their handle shaped ancestors

# Not here.
Almost all cysterns in public places around here are electronic, they flush when you move away from them. Sometimes before.
Faucets, soap dispensers, and driers pretty much all work that way too.
Fine until there's a power cut.

I'm too tired to make a "motion-sensitive" joke right now. I'll leave
that to someone else.

# yeah, but you still have to push/pull the fucking door open
"faucets"

lol

# Ah, many public places yes (excluding train stations)
Never seen an automatic soap dispenser except on an advert. I couldn't help but wonder what the point was since you only ever touch it before washing your hands.
I was talking home use with these vs these.

# Worst thing I find is the hole where the U-bend starts is too far forward
which means you're liable to get pooey smears down the back wall of the bowl. It's basically a toilet that needs cleaning twice as much as any other toilet.

# There's them Forren ones...
...that have a little "pan" so the Forrens can sift through their jobbies before flushing. Now that's weird.

# Aw hell naw
Please tell me they don't

# Man I have a story about that from when I lived in Amsterdam
but you wouldn't even fucking believe it.
Plus QOTW has spoiled story-telling for everyone forever.

# Haha QOTW is a rather special place

# I shat in one of those in amsterdam
I had to stand up to release it

# The Dutch call that bit the mirror (spiegel)
but they seem to be dying out now

# ahahahahaha
i got very used to these. i always though the intention was to reduce splashback soaking foreign bums but i really like the idea of them all sifting through it
