
I have trouble finding sufficiently smooth paper for colour pencil work. WH Smith's do the best for me.

The paper does have to have a little bit to it to put the wax down. Might give it a try, though (if I ever get the time to draw again).

alternatively, the back of old wallpaper does offer some good purchase, for pastels. But for pencil work I would recommend some nice heavy paper. The best comes from Italy, but is quite pricey.

just make sure you don't get confused or drunk and end up asking for Matt Goss paper. You'll get funny looks.
