I have the original comic form of this, somewhere. The Mekon's ship was badly damaged in a fight so he was going to bugger off. Then the Treen in the helmet discovered that the escape pod was also knackered. And so the Mekon got captured by Dare.

Think he got shoved in stasis in an asteroid or something for all eternity as punishment (but got released by some asteroid miners later).
