You can make calls on it?Hmmm, thinking about it... you can skype on it, and I think you can use the vonage app to call other devices with the vonage app installed, but you can't make or receive calls on it like a regular phone.

No, I think that's only available on regular phones isn't it?Facetime is great though, I used it a lot when I was in the UK.
Edit: you're right, it's available on iPads, you can use an email address to access it.
