lovely interview just now on BBC three counties radiowith a newly elected UKIP councillor in Hertfordshire and a UKIP voter, they got as far as calling gay marriage abhorrent and immoral before the interview completely fell apart.

Everyone is bigoted in some wayMost people are too embarassed/restrained to act on that bigotry in public (good!) and this vote is just a tiny minority who have decided to voice their opinions in a realtively harmless way.
Also these are the bloody EU elections. They won't get anywhere near this level of support when it comees to a general election and especially if the voter turnout is higher.
