I emigrated from Britain because I refuse to not live in the EU. In fact, I have rejected my old life so strongly that I would be very happy to change my name officially to join in with where I live. The one and only reason why I don't is because if I did I would have to go to the embassy and change my burgundy EU passport for a blue Brexit one. True story.

# That seems like a bizarre choice of hill to die on, but each to their own.
Incidentally, I got my new UK passport last month. It's black, not blue. Might set fire to it in protest.

# The old ones that they wittered on about were black too.
I still have one in a drawer somewhere.
The whole thing makes NO sense.

You reassure me that when my old one expires my replacement won't be Conservative Brexit blue, which is what I feared. But never mind the colour, the fact that I live and work and travel in the EU, and I have a long-term residency card, means that my EU passport is never checked and I don't queue up in the non-EU lane. The idea of losing that is hateful to me. But of course away from big money corruption it's now very difficult to become a citizen of an EU country. Damn their genetically primitive racist arses.

I didn't say that I wanted to exterminate them, so no Nazi eugenics involved, I assure you. But it is a fact that I have emigrated from Britain because of the very great extent to which I do genuinely despise them. And yes it's really true that I do consider all Conservative voters and all Brexit voters to be nasty genetic primitives. I have walked away from them all and I live in a much nicer place called the European Union.

It only refers to changing my name officially, nothing else in my life is affected. I'd be happy to get a new passport if it actually mattered!
