# ooh
thanks

anyone know what to do when you're trying to get a cd rom to eject and the computer is refusing to open up?

# Use the
universal repair tool -- a straightened paper clip -- and poke it into the little hole on the front of the CD drive. Push hard, and the drawer will open...

# it works
but i would use it as a last resort. i don't like forcing things

# And do it
while the computer's off.

# ask it again

# right click
the drive in 'my computer' and choose 'eject'
if that doesn't work, restart the computer

# Check something isn't
using the drive. CDex sometimes locks my drives.
If it refuses to open after a reboot try sticking a paperclip in the little hole - that forces it to open.

# Ack!
Take it back and get a refund right this minute. They're the worst things on the face of creation.

Once you have a refund go get a Dell.

# I had that problem....
I would just use something thin and strong to get up under it and pry it loose when I hit the eject button.
Hope that helps :)
