brinkster are stupid, and just ban .gif, .jpg etc from remote linking.
if your host supports server side scripting, then you should be able to get around any hotlink protection

The FAQ needs updating
it suggests tripod as a host for your pictures

Actually
it says "You can't use images from Geocities or Tripod.com. Don't try. They are utter bastards."
It only suggests lycos.co.uk, yahoo briefcases (which should be removed, they charge 90% of the time) and MSN.
