# my mate had some
fatty pro's back in "the day" very nice they were.
really good for locking on to stuff etc. but i think everything is these days.

how old are you, out of interest? (and where are you?) most people i know kind of gave it up about 18.. moved onto boarding or bmx. (i can't do either ;)
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:29, archived)
# yeah K2 Fatty Pro's
were my 2nd agressives i ever owned. had them for years. cost me £240 back then. Never regretted spending the money, best skates i ever owned.

i'm 18 :) and i live in Peterborough
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:30, archived)
# should do alright on these then ;)
where are you in the world? - edit: ok ;)

and is it as popular as it was there? i get the feeling it's dying out.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:33, archived)
# i've never seen a blader
here in peterborough in about 2 years, but i dont go to the skateparks anymore... most you see are boarders and bmxers. they piss me off. Blading is so much cooler.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:35, archived)
# :(
yeah me too - i live in the sticks (scottish borders) but you hardly see anyone (in edinburgh etc)

i like bmx - looks really good and is fucking hard - as is boarding but no-one ever lands anything. skating is so much more accessable and the tricks are a lot more impressive. much better for street stuff too because you can use anything - more variety than boarding.

ah those were the days - breaking into factory carparks because they had one small rail that was low enough to jump onto ;)
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:40, archived)
# haha :D
we went into an abandoned warehouse where they had old machinery around, and down to the riverside, they had a HUUUGEEEEEEE handrail there, i was first to grind and land it :D!

was crazy tho, cos the guy after me, Danny, went straight into the river :P The Idiot tried a Kind Grind down it and didnt notice the water edge was so close :D
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:42, archived)
# heh niice
i never really got good enough for proper rails - only a couple smaller ones i could do (i scare too easily ;)

i'm gonna get my rail out tomorrow and see if i still got it. doubt it..
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:47, archived)
# Hehe i still got a rail
i nicked from a street near me :P this guy ollie used to own launch ramps, quarters, A Frames, everything... built them all himself. they've all broken through weathering now.

man i wish i was a kid and i had this kinda money. I woulda been so cool :D
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:50, archived)
# you mean you wish you had a credit card ;)
i'm skint.

i built a fuckoff big beast of a launch when i was about 15 - so big you had to go full pelt down a slope to get any kind of lift off it and it chucked you to fuck. not the best so we cut it in half and it was class.
still sitting in front of my garage, rotting slowly ;)

got to go now - i'm making a pixel ninja animation

but keep the spirit alive..

and enjoy your new shit!

i'll have it payed off next month :) when i get payed :P

# is it a real
shop? or just online?
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:25, archived)
# Yup, it's real.
They have been around for about 20 years now, was in Kentish Town, now in Southgate.

Actualy started off as Skating and Crossbows, then moved away from the crossbow thing and focused on skating/hockey etc.

They have some really nice toys, like this. It does skids'n'stuff.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:29, archived)
# lol
wicked :P

i'll stick to my SOAP's tho :P
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:33, archived)
# lol,
we have some benches in the shop, like the ones you get at the rinks. When testing out the soaps when they came out - one of the staff members went straight through the window.

Everyone expecting one of the grumpy managers to be pissed, just held up a card saying "6/10".
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:37, archived)
# haha
awesome :D

are my SOAPs :)
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:39, archived)
# Ohh', they look classy.
haven't seen that pair.

I got my mate who wanted some 'boots' (just for walking about), to get those skates where you click the heal and it turns into quads (gave it to him for about £15).

Turns out they don't mix well with alchole - considering he doesn't skate.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:48, archived)
# haha that's funny :D
I never tried them things, aint they sposed to be well crap tho? i mean, just the thought of not being able to do heel/toe on a set of skates scares me :P
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 1:51, archived)
# This one turns into like quads,

I wouldn't say the healys are crap, but they do have an equired taste. If your good on them, then they are great - otherwise, no point.
