i was at a crash site recently where that'd happened. not nice.
however, in this case...i don't think that was the problem for the front occupants.

anyone who's been in even a small crash knows that the seatbelt really does stop you going through the windscreen/driver/front passenger.

when i was 17 i broadsided a vehicle that turned across me in traffic with no warning. i would definitely have cracked my head on the windshield of the truck i was driving if i'd not been belted.
