Shape tweens
almost invariably end up disgusting and garbled, and motion tweens are too stiff for a dancing character, so yes...no tweens.

tweening is kinda like morphing
you take 2 frames and you tween them so it generates frames between them - usually to smooth out the animation.
ie: you have a frame of a ball on the left side of the screen and a frame of a ball on the right side, you tween 30 frames in between the 2 and it will generate the motion of the ball moving from the left to the right
