# I was bored
So I did a little 'putting things into perspective' research.

Today in the United States of Unconciousness,

1178 people will die of tobacco-related diseases
303 will die of alcohol related diseases
83 people will kill themselves (several of boredom after reading this)
112 will die in road accidents
76 will die through the constitutional right to bear arms
0 will die through marijuana use.

And my point? It's rude to point.

# I look at the marijuana stat and also look at the road deaths
and the gun toll. I've fired guns when stoned. Most fun. Playing clay pigeon with beer cans was fun too. People can die from dope; just in a secondary manner.

# there is also the risk of cancer...
...but hey, legalising pot should be pretty far down anyone's list of priorities.

# "Hey Dopehead! Just sign this form and you'll get free legal marijuana for a lifetime...."
"...aaaaaw maaaaaan. I'll do it next week..."

# surely some of the road accidents could be caused by stoned drivers

# i'm sure it is on a road that's straight and 1000 miles long
i don't recommend you try it round the centre of london though.

# I have been driven on mortorways
By drivers on a mix of booze, dope, e's and speed. They would pull over to the slow lane for bongs and then back to the fast lane. Its terrorfying but I've never been in a crash ever. Other dead friends were not so lucky though.

# *holds up hands*
i've driven drunk, stoned, drugged up etc. i'm not proud of it, but i have. i've also almost killed myself and more than a few of my friends. i shan't be doing it again.

# statistically
stoned drivers drive slower than normal whilst pissed drivers drive faster than normal, therefore stoned drivers crashes are more than likely to be lower speed and less disasterous
