This going to be very dull, sorry... The title A Clockwork Orange is a pun on the Malaysian word Orang (sp??) which means Man. So, Alex in the story is a clockwork man. Burgess used to live in Malaysia, and I understand that the rape scene in the book/film is based on personal experience of being attacked there. Orang-u-tang means Man Of The Forest. Anyone still reading this?
