Pffft
Talking of big files...
I run a forum with a large number of users who aren't skilled in the ways of resizing photos. Consequently they email them through to me (all 5mb) to I can resize the photos for them. I'm getting a little tired of this.
Is there a website, where you can upload large pics, and download a smaller version? (A bit like ImageShack does for hosting)

just write an upload function and put a 100K limit on it with a "fuck off, it`s too big" message if the file`s too large

Well,
it's got that. What I'm wanting is a function to resize the originals from 2000+px wide to a mere 800px. I could do it myself, but it'll chew throught the bandwidth if it takes off, so I was wondering if the wheel had already been invented.

aye flickr might do the job for you
but I think they have some kind of upload/bandwidth limit thing? dunno don`t really use it
wouldn`t be too hard to write a little php script to do it - it wouldn`t be any harder than your typical thumbnail creation script

Yeah
I already have a thumbnail script I can adapt easily. Being a lazy sod, though, I'll look at the alternatives suggested here first!

I use
Tinypic.com for all my hosting stuff. Is that what you're after?

No
Well, it doesn't sound like it. I'm happy to host the photos, but they have to be down to a reasonable size first. That is, 800px wide and 50kb, not 2000+px wide and 800kb.
My members are currently geting me to resize them, but I wondered if there's a website so they could do it themselves.
