This is what I find most intriguing about the recent surge in 'alternative' culture and this emo shit. The ENTIRE IDEA of being punk, indie or otherwise alternative is your INDIVIDUALITY.
Unfortunately, because of crap bands and even crappier fashion, you all become the thing you're all so desperately trying to get away from.

edit: Guaranteed if it WASN'T popular, people wouldn't want to be ringed and studded. What's going to happen to the 18 year-old kid with tattoo sleeves and piercings? Of which, there are ALOT of them.
He's just limited his career choices and his life, for fashion.

I think it looks a bit ugly, myself, except for earrings. Saying that makes me feel very hypocritical though. Clearly some people just feel nice within themselves and attracted to one another when stuck with various shiny things and permanently scribbled upon. Fair enough.
