# The tache bone's connected to the eye bone...
In other news, I don't exactly enjoy being fucked over by my employers.

# Who does?
What has been and happened chum?
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:46, archived)
# See down the board.
I had a meeting today to determine if I was going to be fired or not and they said they "couldn't reach a decision at this time".
So I've now been put on hold till Friday. Bastards.

damn them

# shame
that you're not in a position to tell them to shove their job up their arse.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:48, archived)
# Must have dropped off the bottom
*smirk* I said 'bottom'

But all bumheaddedness to them.

(oh wait, there it is... Arses)

# me either
my boss is 26 stone, and less than gentle.

edit: vent it out, it'll make you feel a bit better. Most bosses are tossers, it's like a universal rule.

# What's going on ?
You get it off your chest, love.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:46, archived)
# you're back!
Go on then, what happened?
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:46, archived)
# I am indeed back
and now home. The only plus side of all this was that I got to go home early.

I basically went to the meeting, spilled my guts on everything including reasons for absence, how much I wanted the job, proved I could do the job properly... Really put my heart and soul into it.

They called me back after 30 minutes and said they couldn't reach a decision due to lack of info and I would find out on Friday.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:48, archived)
# They can't fire you now then
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:50, archived)
# How do you figure?
They've said they need to contact people to get more information and they're going to make a final decision at the end of the week...

Firing is still an option it seems.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:51, archived)
# What information?
It's so annoying when places do that..

"Right, well, that's everything we need to know. We just need a little more information and we'll let you know"

It makes no sense..

Damn them. Damn them all.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:55, archived)
# Well, exactly.
I asked them what they needed to do and they said "there are still a few issues we need to clarify".
Sounds to me as though they're saying "we want to fire you but we don't have enough information to back it up".
I do have a right to appeal against the decision but I don't know if I can actually be bothered if it means going through all this shit.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:56, archived)
# Hmmm....
Sounds like you'd be better off without them...

Though having said that I've just persuaded Mrs Broom to quit her job and do voluntary stuff until she finds a job worth having, so I'm clearly in that kind of mood.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 16:59, archived)
# that is really nice of you
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:00, archived)
# Should have made it clear...
I'm supporting her through that six months as well...

I don't know if that was sarcasm or not, but just in case, I thought I'd defend my actions...
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:03, archived)
# It wasn't sarcasm I assure you :)

/must stop assuming the worst...

# no not at all
You just don't come across this sort of kindness very often anymore. I'm genuinely pleased.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:06, archived)
# Well it's kind of self serving too...
I mean, it's much nicer being around someone who's happy...

I know what you mean though, too many people are out for themselves these days...
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:14, archived)
# same here
I love making my loved ones happy because their happiness is mine :)

# There's no way I can afford it unfortunately.
If I lose this job, I have major problems.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:00, archived)
# But aren't you an IT type personage?
Couldn't you earn a fortune somewhere else?
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:04, archived)
# I could
but the problem is that I can't manage in the meantime.
Also I have serious concerns over what my next potential employer would say if I informed them I failed my probation in my previous position.
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:06, archived)
# Don't inform them of that...
It's a bugger with references / P45 thoguh I'll grant you... You can't just pretend you weren't there...
(, Tue 19 Jun 2007, 17:11, archived)
# sounds like they're case building to me.
start looking around for something else. they're going to be noting down everytime you fart without permission and it's only a matter of time.
sorry and all that but i've been there a few times myself.

self employed ftw.

Their offices are in Reading if you fancy a go.
